Fujiyoshida

Fujiyoshida (富士吉田市) is a small city in the Yamanashi prefecture, and it is an easy option to enjoy views of Mount Fuji.

As probably all walkers in love with Japan, for me Mount Fuji is the most iconic landmark, and climbing it in the top of my bucket list. But this is another story, that I hope to share with you in the next few years.

Unfortunately, the day that I chose to visit Fujiyoshida area the view of the mountain top was obstructed by low hanging clouds, so my photos don’t do it justice due to the poor visibility.

The walk I did was very easy: from the Mt. Fuji Station I went to the Akura Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine; I visited the famous Chureito Pagoda and then back to Kawaguchiko Station to get my reward: the local delicacy know as Hoto Fudo noodles, a miso-flavored soup with thick noodles,  filled with chunks of kabocha squash, green onions and mushrooms.

Despite to the foggy day, Fujiyoshida meant as my starting point to say: “Hey Fuji San, I will see you again, and that time our date will be more intimate, maybe at the sunrise at your summit. Wait for me.”

All of the photos were taken using natural light, with my Canon Powershot G9X Mark II.
